Some crystals tell a story—and this one tells it from every angle.

Hand-selected from the Serra do Espinhaço Mountains near Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brazil, this remarkable Lightning Strike Quartz records one of nature's rarest geological events. The rugged peaks of the Espinhaço Range are known for intense mountain thunderstorms, where occasional lightning strikes leave their permanent signature on quartz crystals. The result is an extraordinary collector's specimen that preserves both its natural growth and the dramatic evidence of that powerful encounter.

Unlike many lightning-struck specimens where the damage is concentrated in one area, this crystal features a distinctive lightning scar that wraps almost completely around its center like a natural belt or embrace. It is a striking reminder of the immense energy that passed through the crystal, leaving behind a permanent geological record.

Although one edge of the termination was naturally blown away during the lightning event, the crystal retains its primary point, allowing you to appreciate both its original growth and the dramatic transformation caused by the strike.

The softly frosted faces display delicate Lemurian growth lines, giving the crystal an ancient, satin-like appearance while preserving excellent clarity within. As the light moves through the crystal, subtle internal rainbows appear, adding flashes of color that reward careful viewing.

One of my favorite features is the presence of several natural key formations on one face—impressions left behind where neighboring crystals once grew before separating naturally. These fascinating growth records offer another glimpse into the crystal's long geological history.

The termination also features a natural window face (intersecting growth face), an attractive and collectible growth characteristic appreciated by quartz enthusiasts.
