Oh, this little skull is absolutely wonderful! I am so impressed with the craftsmanship of this master carved Lavender Jade skull by Roy. The details are extraordinary, and those teeth! They are beautifully defined, with a wonderfully pronounced overbite that gives this skull so much character. I couldn't help thinking about my own childhood days before braces when I first saw that perfect little overbite!
This is a smaller carving than our previous Lavender Jade skull, but it is every bit as special. The proportions are beautifully executed, the eye sockets are deeply sculpted, and the nose, cheekbones, jawline, and individual teeth have all been carefully defined. It is a remarkable example of what skilled hand carving can achieve with an unusual gemstone material.

The video is especially important for this piece. It gives you a much better opportunity to appreciate Roy's exceptional craftsmanship, the beautifully defined teeth, and the natural variations throughout the stone. You can see how the lavender, dusty pink, soft gray, and deeper purple tones move across the skull, along with the subtle darker markings and natural-looking patterns in the material.
The glossy polish enhances the coloration beautifully, while the individual carving details give the skull an expressive, almost lifelike appearance. This is one of those pieces that rewards a closer look.
MASTER CARVED BY ROY
This is not a mass-produced skull simply taken from a mold. The material is first machined down to size, then individually hand carved by Roy. The precision of the finished piece is evident in the facial proportions, the sculpted eye sockets, and especially the individual teeth.
I love how Roy has captured the shape of the teeth and that distinctive overbite. It is such a small detail, but it gives this skull a personality all its own. The smooth transitions between the facial features and the beautifully polished surface make this a genuinely impressive little sculpture.
THE STORY BEHIND LAVENDER JADE
Lavender Jade is an exciting new material entering the gemstone market. According to the information shared with me by Ashley, a representative associated with the mine, this material was discovered by a geologist approximately six years ago and comes from a single mine in Turkey.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley at the Denver Gem Show, where she explained the story behind this unusual material. I was immediately taken with its beautiful coloration, and meeting the people connected with the mine made the experience even more special. They were genuinely lovely people, and I came away with a wonderful feeling about both the material and the people bringing it to market.
One of the fascinating features of this material is its distinctive lavender coloration. According to the information provided by the mine's representative, manganese is associated with its lavender and purple hues, rather than the chromium or iron commonly responsible for the green coloration found in many varieties of jade.
This gives Lavender Jade its own distinctive palette of lavender, violet, dusty pink, and muted gray. In this carving, the colors blend beautifully across the forehead, cheeks, jaw, and back of the skull, creating an individual pattern that makes this piece completely unique.
Because the material is so new to the market and is sourced from a single mine according to supplier information, it is an exciting find for collectors who appreciate unusual gemstone materials and exceptional lapidary craftsmanship.
A ONE-OF-A-KIND COLLECTOR'S PIECE
What makes this skull especially appealing is the combination of an unusual new material and Roy's remarkable carving skill. The natural color variations ensure that no two carvings will look exactly alike, and the carefully defined teeth give this particular piece a personality all its own.
Whether you collect carved skulls, unusual gemstones, or distinctive lapidary art, this is a wonderful example of craftsmanship and natural beauty coming together.
This is a one-of-a-kind carving. You will receive the exact skull pictured.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
In crystal traditions, lavender and purple stones are associated with intuition, spiritual awareness, inner wisdom, and tranquility. Lavender Jade may appeal to those who enjoy working with stones symbolically connected with reflection, emotional balance, and personal growth.
Skulls also carry rich symbolism in art and spiritual traditions. They can represent wisdom, remembrance, transformation, and an appreciation for the cycles of life. For collectors, a carved skull can be both an artistic object and a meaningful symbol of reflection and change.
The combination of Lavender Jade and the skull form makes this a distinctive addition to a collection of carved gemstones, symbolic sculptures, or unusual mineral treasures.
