This one-of-a-kind Hubei Turquoise mala bracelet is a truly exceptional piece, featuring substantial 9–9.5 mm beads selected for their beautiful color, natural matrix and variety of Hubei Turquoise patterns.

This bracelet has a presence that you immediately notice.

The larger beads display a beautiful range of bright turquoise blue, aqua and blue-green, contrasted by dramatic areas of dark brown, charcoal and black natural matrix. Several beads show intricate spiderweb-style matrix, while others have bold, almost painterly patches of contrasting material.

What makes MALA28 particularly special is the variety of Hubei Turquoise represented throughout the bracelet. Rather than being made from a single uniform type of bead, it brings together several beautiful expressions of Hubei material. Some beads are wonderfully blue and relatively clean, while others are dominated by dramatic matrix and intricate natural patterning.

The larger bead size allows you to really appreciate those details.

I personally hand-selected this bracelet at the Denver Gem Show, looking for material with character, contrast and collector appeal. This one immediately stood out.

And there is only one.

About Hubei Turquoise

Hubei Province in China is one of the world's important sources of turquoise, particularly material from the Zhushan region. Hubei Turquoise occurs in a broad range of blue, green-blue and green colors and can display beautiful natural matrix patterns, including spiderweb-style patterns.

Some Hubei material with dark spiderweb patterning is known by the Chinese term Wulanhua, although I would not label this entire bracelet Wulanhua because the bracelet intentionally contains several different Hubei Turquoise appearances. GIA notes that Wulanhua generally refers to dark blue Hubei turquoise with black spiderweb patterning. gia

That variety is actually one of MALA28's greatest strengths.

This is a bracelet for the turquoise collector who appreciates the natural geological character of the material—not perfectly uniform beads.
