Hubei Turquoise Freeform Cabochon #CAB8001

This stunning Hubei turquoise freeform cabochon from China is a beautiful example of the bold color and natural character that make Hubei turquoise so appealing to jewelry makers and collectors.

Measuring approximately 33 mm × 39 mm with a 4 mm thickness, this is a substantial cabochon with an organic, one-of-a-kind freeform shape. I especially love the natural edges, which give this stone a wonderfully earthy and artistic feel rather than the look of a perfectly uniform commercial cut.

The turquoise displays a gorgeous blue-green to vivid turquoise color, accented by extensive golden-brown and darker matrix. The matrix creates an intricate, almost landscape-like pattern across the surface, giving the stone plenty of visual interest from every angle.

At this size, it would make a stunning focal piece for a pendant, statement necklace, large ring, or other artisan jewelry design. It would also be a beautiful addition to a collection of Hubei turquoise.

This is a one-of-a-kind freeform cabochon, and its particular combination of color, matrix, shape, and natural edges makes it especially distinctive.
