A beautiful trio of natural fluorite cabochons showcasing a lovely range of soft greens, lavender, and rich purple banding. Each cabochon has its own distinctive color pattern, with translucent areas that allow the layers of color to show beautifully when held in the light.

I photographed these cabochons both against a white background and in my hand so you can see how their colors look against skin. The contrast is particularly pretty, and the purple and green tones become wonderfully dimensional.

The three cabochons range in size from approximately 17 x 25 mm to 21 x 29 mm, making them substantial stones with plenty of presence for jewelry or collection purposes. They are being offered together as a value lot of three.

About Fluorite

Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral with the chemical formula CaF₂. It is well known among mineral collectors for its extraordinary range of colors, including green, purple, blue, yellow, pink, and colorless varieties. Individual crystals can also display striking color zoning and banding, making fluorite particularly interesting to collectors.

Fluorite crystallizes in the cubic crystal system and has a Mohs hardness of approximately 4, so it is a relatively soft gemstone and should be handled with care when used in jewelry. Its beautiful colors can result from trace elements and other factors within the crystal during its formation.
