African Bloodstone Highly Polished Round Beads

This is a new one for us. Nice highly polished African Bloodstone beads. Measuring 6mm, on a 15" strand, these beauties range in color from milky white, to gray, to green, to blood red. Bloodstone is a form of Jasper where the dark green color of the stone is flecked with red, hence the name bloodstone. The red coloration arises from the presence of hematite which is a form of iron oxide. Obviously, no two strands are exactly alike. Bloodstone is said to aid in detoxification of the body and help stave off negative energies.
