We specialize in clasps which are designed by and manufactured for A Grain of Sand exclusively using vintage buttons, cabochons, Swarovski crystals, pearls and gemstones set in sterling silver or vermeil. The clasps are unique and many are one of a kind. We carry designer recommended stringing materials, tools and supplies for your one-stop shopping convenience.

We are a growing family oriented business located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Over twenty years ago A Grain of Sand was just a dream and a shoebox full of old jewelry. Now with a lot of hard work and great people, it is a reality. A Grain of Sand is dedicated to customer satisfaction and friendly service.

As many of you know, we have come a long way at A Grain of Sand. The image to the right is of our original home page design. Many of you recognize the model who is Lauren, my daughter. Years ago, Lauren could be found working by my side at shows. She is now grown up and off doing things on her own.

Thank you for your continued support.
Enjoy your day,

Suzanne Branca

6818.pngThe Story of "A Grain of Sand"

When an oyster swallows a grain of sand, it feels a great deal of discomfort. So, it begins to ease the pain by applying a coat of nacre or pearl. It is during this healing process that it creates a beautiful pearl. It is rather bitter sweet to think that something so beautiful can be created out of so much discomfort. This is like life itself. It is easy to love in good times, but it takes courage to love through the discomfort of our lives. It is through learning and understanding this that gives us courage and a sense of hope. The pearl represents an aura of courage, love and healing. Love has the power to heal all wounds. Love defines our existence. A Grain of Sand is a symbol of love and life. . . . . .
